College, College, College

 

 

We've done the elementary school thing, we've done the junior high school thing, we are in the middle of doing the high school thing, and now Catch! is moving into helping out with the college thing. We are oh so very excited to watch the not-so-kids we have worked with for so long start checking out college. For anyone who has had the priviledge of going to college, you know what a great experience it is. We are really stoked to be finding ways to help the students we love so much get to enjoy that too.

 

Of course this new adventure comes with it's challenges- what doesnt? We have a number of programs we are trying to get up off the ground, some with much success and others with not enough funding. We have started a volunteer program for our Catch! students in the hopes of giving everyone who comes to us plenty of opporunities to help the community and build the brag sheets the need to produce to get into colleges and gain more scholarships. Of course, it has been great watching our students get to help the community and grow through the service they are doing. Of course, for us running Catch! it is always great to get to help our students set down stepping stones to move into their futures, wherever they want those futures to take place.

 

Of late, we have been helping out Elizabeth, at the Bishops House, run events, maintian the house and do whatever else may be needed for the preservation of the beautiful home. We helped run a few open houses and will be transitioning it out of the wonderful Christmas state it is currently in.
